delivering top tier corporate shows

“There is no crying in trade-shows” is a popular phrase tossed around on the show floor. You wonder why anyone might cry at a trade show; being a project manager on the SAP dedicated team is one of the most dynamic, challenging, and rewarding career paths I’ve chosen. As a Corporate Client Solutions Manager, I work with a large team of Creatives, Graphic Account Managers, Operational Leads, and third-party vendors to deliver a beautiful high-end product for the client. You take calls at any time of day, work under tight deadlines, work proactively to ensure quality and remain on your toes at all times. The Freeman dedicated account team is aimed at delivering a consistent SAP brand experience throughout the execution of every show.

After onboarding to the account, I immediately noticed the need for clarity between the client's expectations and communication among our team. I was happy to help facilitate new process efficiencies by utilizing our team members’ individual knowledge and expertise. Overhauling our event planning process began with creating a work-back schedule to assist with timeline needs for the SOW process. Our team was then able to take this work-back schedule and establish milestones within a task management system. CSMs finally had a tool that provided clarity to the client and launched the setup for each event planning cycle. I encouraged and led the implementation of Asana to facilitate communication between team members and cross-functional teams. The result established consistency across all of our account managers and helped contribute to improved account-wide performance metrics.

The big ear-marker for improvement on our account is job cost which translates to revenue. As part of a team, I contributed to a 15% increase in revenue for a show that historically was unprofitable and in 2020 I led my first show, producing a 25% increase in revenue. I know, it sounds fictional, but our team put in a lot of hard work in our pre-planning stage, worked to forecast potential issues on-site, and prepared the solutions within the delivery.
